INDIANAPOLIS — Writer/author Julie Young is looking for community input on her upcoming title for The History Press tentatively titled Famous Faces of WTTV-4 set for release in late spring of 2013. Free Legal Clinic For Homeowners

INDIANAPOLIS – All homes in Marion County have been reassessed for 2012. If you think the new assessed value of your home is too high, you have a limited time to challenge your 2012 property tax assessment. The Neighborhood Christian Legal Clinic is hosting a free walk-in legal clinic for Marion County residents who own and live in homes with an assessed value below $150,000 on Jan. 14 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Chase Near Eastside Legacy Center. Post-Holiday Recycling Event

INDIANAPOLIS – The City’s Office of Sustainability, in partnership with Indy Parks and Keep Indianapolis Beautiful, will offer four drop-off locations for its Post-Holiday Recycling Event on Jan. 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. For the seventh year in a row, Indianapolis residents will have the opportunity to recycle unwanted electronics and holiday waste.

The following items will be accepted at this year’s event: Real Christmas Trees (cleared off), gift boxes, cardboard boxes, styrofoam, old electronics, magazines and catalogs.

Residents are asked to remove all ornaments, lights, tinsel, tree stands, plastic bags, nails and other decorations from Christmas trees before drop-off. No artificial trees will be accepted.

Recyclables will be accepted at the following Indy Parks locations. Follow signs within each park to the specific drop-off locations.

• Broad Ripple Park, 1610 Broad Ripple Ave., front entrance

• Ellenberger Park, 5301 E. St. Clair St.,  main parking lot

• Garfield Park, 2450 S. Shelby St., Arts Center Parking Lot

• Krannert Park, 605 S. High School Road, north parking lot


Church Celebrates MLK Day

LAWRENCE — The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Ecumenical Community Celebration will take place on Jan. 21 at 6:30 p.m. at Lawrence United Methodist Church, 5200 N. Shadeland Ave.

Join us as we remember Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. with 5th grade essay contest winners writing on “Things Dr. Martin Luther King sacrificed, what did he sacrifice for and what would you sacrifice,” along with uplifting choral groups, an inspiring message by Bishop J. Laveme Tyson, the giving of the MLK Community Award and light refreshments following the service. Childcare will be provided.
