INDIANAPOLIS — This spring, the Indiana Repertory Theatre closes their season with the unstoppable farce The Play That Goes Wrong. Written by Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer, and Henry Shields and directed by IRT’s Margot Lacy Eccles Artistic Director Benjamin Hanna, the intricate and chaotic comedy runs April 9 – May 11 on the OneAmerica Financial Stage.
This play within a play follows the Cornley Drama Society as they get ready to perform a murder mystery, but things quickly go from bad to worse. There’s an unconscious leading lady, a corpse that won’t play dead, and actors who trip over everything — and that’s only the first act.
In the IRT’s version, audiences may recognize multiple actors from recent productions at the Theatre, including Rob Johansen, Dominique Lawson, Brett Mutter, Eric Sharp, Claire Wilcher, and Sarah Price. China Brickey and Ryan Hallahan will be making their IRT debut.
Tickets are available now for The Play That Goes Wrong, online at irtlive.com. The theatre is located at 140 W. Washington Street. Tickets start at $25.
