INDIANAPOLIS — Jiffy Lube of Indiana has added two new murals to its Indianapolis locations, giving local artists Aaron Scamihorn, Kyle Ragsdale and Megan Jefferson a fresh canvas to share their work with the Far East Side and West Side communities.
At the Jiffy Lube on 38th Street and Moller Road, Aaron Scamihorn’s creation “Bark Park” is a playful piece inspired by the connection people share with their pets. Three of the dogs featured represent his own golden retrievers, Crockett, Boone and Libby, while the fourth dog is a memorial tribute to Aaron’s late pup, Penny.
Across town at 10520 E. Washington St., Harrison Center curator Kyle Ragsdale, assisted by Indianapolis muralist Megan Jefferson, created “Happy Together.” The mural sends an unexpected cast, including George Washington, Benjamin Harrison, Abraham Lincoln, a nun, a swan and a circus bear, on a colorful trip through time and space aboard a big red boat.
The works are the latest additions to Jiffy Lube of Indiana’s award-winning mural program, which began in 2016 as a creative response to graffiti and now includes 26 murals across Indiana.
