Plentiful Offerings at Eskenazi Health’s Newest Location

The Eskenazi Health Thomas & Arlene Grande Campus, opening April 17, has so much to offer to eastside residents, from primary care to podiatry. Located at 6002 E. 38th St., this state-of-the-art campus will be a one-stop shop for patients seeking excellent health care without the hassle of traveling from place to place to access it.
The Office of Patient Experience staff will greet visitors and answer questions. A digital directory in Spanish, English and Haitian Creole will provide a map and interactive screens. Right up the stairs, you will discover Eskenazi Health Center Grande, offering primary care provided by the physicians who have moved here from Eskenazi Health Center North Arlington and Eskenazi Health Center Forest Manor.
On the second floor you will also find podiatry and an optical shop along with optometry services. Chiropractic services will be offered starting this summer.
The first floor houses a host of services for visitors. Financial counseling services for patients will be available. You will also find an Eskenazi Health Oklak Family Pharmacy. Health care offerings will include Sandra Eskenazi Mental Health Center services and imaging services, including X-rays, ultrasounds, mammograms, CT scans and MRIs. Physical, occupational and speech therapy will be offered by Eskenazi Health Rehabilitation Services.
The Marion County Public Health Department (MCPHD) has also housed several services at the Eskenazi Health Thomas & Arlene Grande Campus. MCPHD will provide dental care, focusing primarily, but not exclusively, on children and pregnant women. MCPHD will also provide two family services in the building: a B.A.B.E. (Beds and Britches, Etc.) store and W.I.C. (Women, Infants and Children) nutrition services.
In addition to its many health care offerings, the new campus will feature many community amenities, designed with the input of eastside residents and conveniently located on the first floor. A cafe will offer grab-and-go items and a limited daily menu. A tech hub will be available, along with a multipurpose room for gathering. A wellness space, part of Eskenazi Health’s lifestyle medicine programming, will include a teaching kitchen, which will help patients learn to prepare a variety of healthy meals. A centrally located baby grand piano will give building visitors the chance to play and listen to music. Lactation rooms will be available for the convenience of nursing mothers.
The building is filled with light and artwork, much of it created by community artists. Information desks and the second floor’s registration stations were crafted by Purposeful Design, a company staffed by individuals trained in furniture building after suffering through poverty, homelessness and addiction. The building’s furniture was designed after consulting with neighborhood residents.
Outside you will find bike racks and plenty of parking. The building is conveniently located next to a grocery store, Indy Fresh Market, and is on the new IndyGo Purple Line, slated for fall completion.
Plans for the grounds include creating a farm along Pogue’s Run, next to a new trail surrounding the building. A pear and apple tree orchard has also been planned. Both the farm and orchard will supply produce for the teaching kitchen and the cafe.
Patients who received health care at Eskenazi Health Center Forest Manor and Eskenazi Health Center North Arlington will now receive their care on this campus. As a reminder, if you were a patient at either of those centers and have an appointment scheduled on or after April 17, you will go to the new building, located at 6002 E. 38th St., for that appointment. For any unresolved questions about the move, please call 317-880-7666.
Welcome to our exciting new campus! We look forward to seeing you there.
