Former Black Acre Taproom to Become Scarlet Lane Tap House

IRVINGTON — Black Acre Brewing Company, established in 2012, closed its doors on February 4 in Irvington, so that the owners could move on to other ventures. The Garden on Bonna and the Loft downtown have also closed. The last week of operation at Black Acre saw packed houses and many pints drained for the last time — and more than a few tears shed for the local watering hole.
However, all is not lost. Scarlet Lane Brewing Company will be taking over the space on East Washington St. Over the next couple of weeks, the new company will be working hard on the space to re-open it — with many of the same Black Acre employees.
In addition, Scarlet Lane will continue to brew Black Acre’s two most popular beers: Saucy Intruder Rye IPA and Natural Liberty Pale Lager.
Scarlet Lane is a great fit for Irvington, as many of their offerings have horror and spooky names, reflecting Irvington’s well-known Halloween vibe.
Started in 2014, Scarlet Lane Brewing Company has locations throughout the Indianapolis area, including one on Main St. in Beech Grove, one on the near eastside at 1702 Bellefountaine St., one at 46th and College, and the mothership in McCordsville. The new location is tentatively named the Irvington Tap House & Burger Joint.
