INDIANAPOLIS — Friends of Dogs Outside (FIDO), a nonprofit is holding a free Pet Food Pantry on the first Saturday of each month, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at 1505 N. Sherman Dr. in the Charles C. Brandt Co. bldg.
FIDO provides dry dog and cat food for free to those in need. To qualify, pet owners must be low income, and all pets must be spayed or neutered. Bring personal identification and proof of pets spay/neuter. Community cat caretakers are welcome. FIDO can help clients connect with low cost or free spay/neuter programs at various clinics in Indy (supply can vary depending on programs and grants that are available). Do not bring pets to the pantry.
FIDO offers temporary assistance to owners who are willing to improve their dogs’ quality of life without continuous chaining. For low income dog owners, FIDO may be able to offer kennels, fencing repairs, training crates, dog houses, warm bedding, collars and leashes, and more.
