Eric Grayson to Screen “Bride of Frankenstein” AND “Bride of Finkelstein”

INDIANAPOLIS — Film historian Eric Grayson will screen the classic 1935 film, The Bride of Frankenstein, at the Garfield Park Arts Center on Sat., Oct. 15, at 8 p.m. at the October Vintage Movie Night selection. It will be preceded by a spoof, The Bride of Finkelstein, created by award-winning filmmaker Michael Schlesinger.
The main feature, starring Boris Karloff, Colin Clive, Ernest Thesiger, and Elsa Lanchester, is a sequel to the hugely successful 1931 film, Frankenstein, also featuring Karloff. Director James Whale and Karloff were both hesitant to do The Bride of Frankenstein, but it proved to be “one of the greatest sequels of all time,” according to Grayson, “with lush photography and a great score.” He added, “It is one of the best horror films made by Universal.”
Admission is $5 and concessions $1. This is a family-friendly event. For more information, visit www.gpacarts.org or call 317-327-7135.
