From The Indianapolis Star, Tuesday, May 18, 1915: National Peace Day will be celebrated in Indianapolis today with various exercises and entertainments arranged by the Indiana branch of the Woman’s Peace Party. The program begins this morning with the raising of four blue and white peace flags at the Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Monument, followed by a peace prayer and the singing of “America” by a quartet from the Ladies’ Matinee Musicale. Several members of the Woman’s Peace Party will give a program at the Clermont Girls’ School which will include talks, a group of songs, and a piano solo. Most of the public schools will observe the day with special exercises in the morning. Rev. Joshua Stansfield, president of the Indiana Peace Society will address an afternoon tea on “Ethics of War and Peace.”
