Energy Assistance Program Accepting Applications

INDIANAPOLIS — The Energy Assistance Program (EAP) provides financial assistance to households with limited income to maintain utility services throughout winter. EAP is a federally funded block grant administered by the Indiana Housing & Community Development Authority (IHCDA) and is designed to help defray heating costs to those in need.
Eligible individuals and families are provided a one-time benefit to their heating and electric companies to offset the high cost of utility bills. The amount of assistance awarded is based upon the household size, income, type of housing, housing status, at-risk factors, and fuel source. As an added benefit, clients will also receive an energy educational component to learn various methods to help lower current and future utility costs as well as access to other services provided by the Center.
The Center is accepting applications. Visit /jhbcc.org/programs/financial-foundations/energy-assistance-program-eap/ to learn more about the program, qualifications, and to download an intake form or call 317-808-2378.
