INDIANAPOLIS — Mayor Joe Hogsett and the Indianapolis Department of Public Works (Indy DPW) have announced the ten projects selected for funding through the 2025 Indianapolis Neighborhood Infrastructure Partnership (INIP).
INIP is now part of an overarching group of programs called Community Powered Infrastructure. Along with Tactical Urbanism and Art in the Right-of-Way, these programs allow residents access to a cost-share program for infrastructure projects in their neighborhoods.
INIP projects selected for 2025 represent $3 million in total investment in Indianapolis’ infrastructure. The program allows Indy DPW to double the effective value of tax dollars, increase the number of neighborhood and community-based projects and jump-start development that would not otherwise be possible through capital projects alone.
Locally, 2025 Indy Neighborhood Infrastructure Partnership Projects include:
• City of Southport: Pedestrian crossing improvements at Southport and Derbyshire roads.
• IU Indianapolis: Pedestrian signal repairs/replacements in various location on the IU Indy campus.
• Northwest Perry Neighborhood Association: Pavement rehabilitation of Division Street from Hanna to Sumner avenues
• Oaks Academy: Pavement rehabilitation on Brookside Parkway North Drive in front of The Oaks Academy.
• Town of Homecroft: Road reconstruction of Orinoco Avenue between Loretta and Southview drives.
• IndyGo Foundation: ADA improvements to many bus stops citywide.
• Town of Meridian Hills: Pavement rehabilitation in multiple locations in the Town of Meridian Hills.
The next round of applications for Tactical Urbanism and Art in the Right-of-Way projects will open in June.
