Applause!: Oct. 9-15

• Menards is now serving as a drop site for a local food pantry during the month of October. Menards offers a wide variety of non-perishable food items that can be donated to the food pantries, from boxes of cereal to cans of soup that can be found in our grocery department for immediate donation. There is a large collection box near the exit doors to place donations.
• All locations of Indianapolis Public Library will be closed Monday, October 12 for Indigenous Peoples’ Day.
• Third Thursday returns this month for a Broad Ripple Spooktacular — and the final Third Thursday of the season on Thursday, Oct. 15. Come out for an evening of Halloween fun throughout the Village, with businesses open late, live music pop-ups, Halloween treats, and plenty of reasons to wear your favorite costume. Dance Walk Indy will also be back with a mobile DJ leading a costumed dance-walk through Broad Ripple. Visit https://www.lovebroadripple.com/event-map for locations and events.
• Made: Indy’s Fall Fest will be held on Sat., October 17, from noon to 5 p.m. ARTSPARK, 820 E. 67th St., will come alive with art activities, art, food, and more. This event features artwork, wares, and artisanal goods from 50+ local and regional artists with one-of-a-kind work. Guests will be able to participate in art activities while enjoying a sampling of local artists and artisans, food trucks, local beer, and a variety of wine for purchase! This event is very family-friendly, so bring the whole crew and enjoy a fun-filled fall day! Admission is free and open to the public. Activities available for all ages. Make-It-Take-Its for adults are available for pre-purchase. Admission and Pumpkin Painting are free.
• Festival of Jack-o’-Lanterns will be held October 25-31, 7-9 p.m. at the James Whitcomb Riley Boyhood Home & Museum, 250 W. Main St., Greenfield. The festival features a free glowing garden walk from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on the evenings of October 25-31. You can vote for your favorite painted or carved pumpkin at this family-friendly event.
• The last Irvington Farmers Market will be held on Sunday, Oct. 11 from noon-3 p.m. This award-winning market features local produce, delicious prepared foods, arts and crafts, information from nonprofits, and music. Stop by and shop, and swing by the Irvington Garden Club booth to thank the organizers for their volunteer efforts.
• Have you heard of Feverup Candlelight Concerts? It is a series of concerts by a string quartet who play at Scottish Rite Cathedral lit by candles. Tickets are about $35 per show per person. Coming up on Friday, Oct. 16 is a tribute to Taylor Swift, followed by Vivaldi’s Four Seasons the same day in the evening, Coldplay and Imagine Dragons on the 22nd, followed by Queen vs. ABBA in the evening.
