INDIANAPOLIS — Individuals seeking free legal assistance are invited to Central Library on Tuesday, July 29, from 3–7 p.m. for a Free Legal Clinic provided in partnership with Indiana Legal Services (ILS) and the Neighborhood Christian Legal Clinic (NCLC).
Legal staff from both organizations will be on-site to provide free, professional services for criminal record expungement and eviction sealing to qualifying individuals. Attendees must meet income requirements to receive assistance with these matters, which will be conducted in meeting rooms at Central Library.
In addition, attorneys will offer low-income taxpayer assistance on a first-come, first-served basis near the Riley Room. Tax consultations are free and open to all attendees, regardless of income, and do not require an appointment.
The Library’s on-staff social work team will be present at the event, working at tables near the Riley Room to provide information and consultations on a range of topics, including housing, education, health, and food assistance.
A limited number of free bus passes are available for those in need of transportation to the Free Legal Clinic.
