• Cabaret Poe is at Theatre on the Square this year, and is serving up a extra dose of murder, insanity and comedy for Halloween through Oct. 3. Get tickets ($15/$20) online at tots.org.
• The Indiana Department of Transportation kindly sent us a warning to watch out for deer, stating that nearly 50 percent of deer/vehicle collisions happen between Oct. and Dec. While we may live in an urban area, you’d be surprised how many deer are around. They are most active between sunset and sunrise, and near the edge of woodlots and parks. Just last week, we saw a young deer leap across German Church Road near Paul Ruster Park at dusk.
• EclecticPond will be presenting Titus Andronicus Oct. 16-31 at the Indy Indie Artist Colony, 26 E. 14th St. In a world somewhere between Mad Max: Fury Road and The Walking Dead, comes EclecticPond Theatre Company’s dystopian adaptation of the bard’s most violent and gory of works. By transporting the characters and events of this play to an unforgiving post-apocalyptic world, a world that is as violent as any of the characters themselves, we explore the themes of family, revenge, and legacy in a setting where loyalty to your tribe may be your only hope of survival. Death could be waiting around every corner. Performances will be at 8 p.m. on Oct. 16, 17, 23 and 24, 6 p.m. on Oct. 25, and 8 p.m. on Oct. 30. For tickets and more information, visit eclecticpond.org.
