Indy Author Fair Oct. 25

INDIANAPOLIS — Aspiring writers and book lovers of all ages are invited to celebrate Indiana’s rich literary tradition with a variety of free workshops and author events at the “Indy Author Fair” on Saturday, October 25 from 10:15 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. at Central Library, 40 E. St. Clair Street.
The day’s activities precede that evening’s sixth annual Eugene & Marilyn Glick Indiana Authors Award Dinner at Central Library when this year’s winning authors who have contributed to the literacy landscape in Indiana and across the nation will be honored. The Award is a program of The Indianapolis Public Library Foundation.
The fair will include programs on writing, publishing and marketing presented by the Indiana Writers Center. Attendees can learn how to write or publish non-fiction, humor, speculative fiction, blogging and memoir writing. Leading Hoosier authors, including those to be recognized for the Indiana Authors Award, will be on hand to discuss and sign copies of their works. One of the authors is 2014 Indiana Authors Award National Winner Michael Shelden. Children ages 8 and up also are invited for a special writing workshop featuring leading children’s authors.
