INDIANAPOLIS — The IMPD Downtown District recently announced a generous $9,500 donation from the Watermark Homeowners Association (HOA) to the Central Indiana Police Foundation to support the purchase of a new drone and related equipment. This continued investment in technology strengthens our ability to respond proactively and serve our downtown neighborhoods with the highest level of safety and readiness. Watermark is located near the Indianapolis Cultural Trail and Canal Walk.
Earlier this year, two drones were already purchased for the Downtown District thanks to the generosity of community partners. This new donation from Watermark HOA builds on that momentum and helps expand our drone capabilities — enhancing real time awareness, assisting officers during critical incidents, and improving overall public safety efforts across downtown.
Watermark was an early adopter of the B Link camera system, giving IMPD direct access to neighborhood camera feeds. Their continued support demonstrates the powerful impact of community partnerships on public safety and innovation.
