INDIANAPOLIS — Keep Indianapolis Beautiful, Inc. (KIB) recently launched their new Graffiti Free Indy program; which will provide free abatement options for Indianapolis residents effected by vandalism. To assist the City of Indianapolis, Department of Code Enforcement with the new ordinance on graffiti control, KIB is providing free resources through a partnership with Valspar and Lowes Home Improvement, to neighbors and residents in a citywide program to combat vandalism.
The Graffiti Free Indy initiative allows Indy residents to take graffiti removal into their own hands by either proactively abating the graffiti on their own, coordinating a group clean-up, or volunteering to assist on graffiti removal. Support from the Marion County Prosecutors Office and IMPD, and the Department of Public Safety’s Graffiti Efficiency Task Force who helped set up the program and advocate for this ordinance, assisted greatly with the creation of this abatement program.
A complete listing of FAQs about the program as well as more information on KIB’s Graffiti Free Indy program, is available at www.kibi.org/ graffiti_free_indy.
