From The Indianapolis Star, Monday, July 26, 1915: All records for the bottling of Pluto water have been broken this year at French Lick Springs. The output of bottled spring water is nearly double what it was a year ago owing to the domestic demand that has followed the European War. Bottling of water for export consumption at European spas has ceased because of the lack of labor, the demoralization of markets, and the difficulties of overseas shipment. The increased demand for Indiana’s aperient water is not confined to the U.S. Foreign orders are coming to French Lick in larger volume, and the war is expected to result in a permanent export market for Pluto water. A new bottling house at French Lick is equipped to meet the extraordinary demand that has arisen in the last few months.
