From The Indianapolis Times, Tuesday, June 15, 1915: Flag Day, designated by President Wilson, was not generally observed in Indianapolis yesterday with ceremonies, although flags were displayed from public buildings and many homes throughout the city. Indianapolis Lodge No. 13, Order of Elks in their annual observance of Flag Day led the city with a special program at which State Senator Arthur Robinson spoke. A number of patriotic organizations held meetings in the afternoon and evening with special exercises. The Ladies’ Circle of the Regular Army & Navy combined Flag Day and memorial services at Ft. Benjamin Harrison. At Tomlinson Hall the Ladies of the G. A. R., the United Ancient Order of Druids, and the Patriotic Daughters of America held services. The New Era and Martha Washington Arts clubs held a joint flag-day meeting at Brookside Park.
