INDIANAPOLIS — According to the Indiana State Department of Health, more than 10,000 people are living with HIV/AIDS in Indiana, and The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimates that more than one million people are living with HIV/AIDS in the United States. Early diagnosis and treatment saves lives and is known to reduce the spread of HIV. Those with HIV who are on treatment and in care can reduce the risk of spreading the virus to others by as much as 96 percent.
The Damien Center encourages everyone to know their status and provides statewide access to vital supportive, preventive, and medical services for those affected by HIV. These services include free and confidential testing for HIV, STIs, and pregnancy. Individuals across the state of Indiana can access all of The Damien Center’s services for free.
