From The Indianapolis Times, Monday, October 12, 1914: Today begins the Children’s Aid Association’s celebration of “Education Week” during which it will endeavor to bring its work to the attention of the community. “Children’s Aid Sunday” will conclude the week’s events with preachers and Sunday school superintendents making announcements about the association’s activities. Last year the Children’s Aid Association dealt with 2,146 different children and its trained workers made 6,453 visits, an average of seventeen visits a day including Sundays. The work this year has been heavier in all departments. The best known department of the association is its Pure Milk Clinic which provides milk for sick babies as well as medical advice to mothers and the help and counsel by trained nurses. The Child Protection Department guards against abusive child labor and protects the rights of children.
