INDIANAPOLIS — Asphalt Materials, Inc., a family-owned Indianapolis business recently donated a vehicle to Coburn Place, to help address critical transportation barriers faced by domestic violence survivors.
Transportation remains one of the most significant barriers survivors face when rebuilding their lives after domestic violence.
“Access to reliable transportation is essential for attending court hearings, medical appointments, job interviews and other critical services that support survivors’ path to independence and safety,” said Rachel Scott, President and CEO of Coburn Place. “This donation will have an immediate and lasting impact on survivors and their children.”
Coburn Place offers compassionate support and safe housing choices for survivors of domestic violence and their children, illuminating a path forward. It is Indiana’s largest and most comprehensive provider of longer-term housing options for survivors. Coburn Place offers on-site transitional housing along with community-based housing in a Domestic Violence Housing First approach to identify and eliminate housing barriers and improve survivors’ overall housing stability and well-being.
