Two Pacers Bikeshare Stations Open on Eastside

INDIANAPOLIS — Indy’s ever-expanding Pacers Bikeshare system opened its 56th and 57th stations in the Englewood neighborhood on the eastside recently.
The two new stations are located at Purdue Polytechnic High School (PPHS), located at E. Washington St. and S. Parker Ave and St. Lucas Lofts, an affordable housing development located at E. New York and Rural Street.
These are the first two Pacers Bikeshare stations to be funded by a high school and for a housing development, respectively.
PPHS received the Health Issues & Challenges Grant from the Indiana Department of Health in 2022. Thanks to their generous support, PPHS worked with Indianapolis Cultural Trail and the Englewood Community Development Corporation to install a Pacers Bikeshare station at the PPHS Englewood campus.
Englewood Community Development Corporation centered the development of St. Lucas Lofts around transit accessibility as a way to provide housing that was not dependent on cars. In addition to having a Pacers Bikeshare station outside, St. Lucas Lofts is along several IndyGo bus routes and will have a Blue Line Bus Rapid Transit stop nearby in the future.
Marion County residents may request an IndyRides Free pass at pacersbikeshare.org/indy-rides-free/. Once Marion County residency is verified, registrants will receive an access code to activate their IndyRides Free pass.
An IndyRides Free annual pass grants access to unlimited 30-minute trips. After 30 minutes, a usage fee of $0.25 per minute applies until the bike is returned to any Pacers Bikeshare station. Since it launched in the spring of 2024, the IndyRides Free program led to record breaking ridership each month for the city’s Pacers Bikeshare program.
