INDIANAPOLIS — Veterans will be the honored guests when two Central Indiana singing organizations join forces for a special free concert on Saturday, Nov. 7, at 7 p.m. at the Frank and Katrina Basile Theater at the Eugene and Marilyn Glick Indiana History Center, 450 W. Ohio St., Indianapolis.
Circle City Sound, Indianapolis’ premier men’s barbershop chorus, will present “Stars and Stripes and Harmony,” a concert celebrating and honoring the men and women who have served our country. The Capital City Chorus will join Circle City Sound as featured guests for the evening.
The concert will also support Hoosier Veterans and Families (HVAF), an Indianapolis organization dedicated to helping veterans and their families achieve housing, employment and self-sufficiency. HVAF provides services including housing assistance, employment support, food, clothing and other essential services.
Both Circle City Sound and Capital City Chorus specialize in the distinctive sound of four-part a cappella harmony, singing without instrumental accompaniment. The concert also will feature local barbershop quartets, adding several different voices and musical styles to the evening.
“Stars and Stripes and Harmony” is intended to be more than simply a concert. It is an opportunity for the Central Indiana community to come together, recognize the sacrifices made by veterans and their families, and say thank you through the power of music.
The concert is free and open to the public, but seating in the Basile Theater is limited. The theater seats approximately 290 people. Please get there early to get a seat.
