Indiana First Lady Announces Imagination Library Donation

INDIANAPOLIS — First Lady Maureen Braun recently announced a major $500,000 donation from the CenterPoint Energy Foundation as part of her fundraising initiative for Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of Indiana. The event was held at the Indiana State Library.
At the event, Mrs. Braun spoke about her passion for childhood literacy and read to Hoosier kids from “The Little Engine That Could,” a favorite of her own grandchildren. The event also featured a special appearance from “Llama Llama” from the beloved children’s book “Llama Llama Red Pajama.”
Mrs. Braun has been hosting story time events at local libraries, talking to kids about the joy of reading and fostering a love of books.
Mrs. Braun is spearheading the effort to fund Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of Indiana funded through a public-private partnership.
