INDIANAPOLIS — The Kurt Vonnegut Museum & Library (KVML) recently announced VonnegutFest 2024, a weekend of events celebrating Kurt Vonnegut’s life and literary legacy. The festival will also mark the official gift of the General Headquarters (GHQ) game – created by Kurt Vonnegut and just released by board game designer Geoff Engelstein – to Indianapolis Public Schools (IPS) libraries during the opening of the Youth Writing Center’s Storytelling Salon.
Events will kick off Nov. 9 with a Youth Writing Center’s Storytelling Salon from 1 – 3 p.m. and a presentation of GHQ Games Gift to IPS Libraries at KVML, 543 Indiana Ave. The day ends with the Vonnegut Sessions: Dwight Simmons & Friends Comedy Night from 7:30 – 9 p.m. (Tickets Required) at the KVML. Comedy night will feature comics Dwight Simmons, Stewart Huff, Gwen Sunkel, and Mat Alano-Martin.
On Sunday, Nov. 10, there will be a Night of Vonnegut Gala from 7 – 10 p.m. (Tickets Required) at the Fishers Art Center in Fishers, 1 Municipal Dr.
On Monday, Nov. 11, there will be Breakfast of Champions Vonnegut Birthday Celebration from 10 a.m. – noon at the KVML (free), and a Reclaiming Armistice Day Exhibition Unveiling & Talk from noon – 1 p.m.

The annual Night of Vonnegut Gala will take place at the Fishers Art Center. The event will feature Kurt Vonnegut Humor Award Winner: Robyn Peterman-Zahn, humorist and best-selling author; Emcee & Comedy Performances: Dwight Simmons, KVML board member and comedian, Silent Auction, Cocktail Reception, and Presentation of the Kurt Vonnegut Humor Award Tickets for the Gala are available at $150 for general admission and $250 for VIP access, including a special pre-event reception.
