INDIANAPOLIS — Indy Parks is kicking off its 5-year Comprehensive Master Plan Update to determine future initiatives and program offerings for the city’s parks and park spaces. The plan, which is an update to the parks department’s 2017 Comprehensive Master Plan, will feature extensive community engagement and project resources at www.PlanIndyParks.com.
Through February 28, the public is invited to share their input using the Community Survey and Youth Survey, both are available at www.PlanIndyParks.com and offer English and Spanish versions. Survey feedback will help shape priorities for future park amenities, recreation programming, and maintenance needs.
The comprehensive plan’s goals include:
• Ensuring an inclusive community outreach process to identify the community’s current needs
• Learning from the best systems nationwide and measuring progress since the last plan
• Seeking national re-accreditation through CAPRA (Commission for the Accreditation of Parks and Recreation Agencies)
• Positioning the Department for future funding and partnership opportunities to continue plan implementation
• Having an equitable and realistic vision to move the Department forward
