From The Indianapolis News, Thursday, October 23, 1913: Equal suffrage was endorsed at noon today, without a dissenting vote, by the delegates to the 7th annual convention of the Indiana Woman’s Federation of Clubs. Suffrage has been the subject under greatest discussion since hundreds of club women from across the state began arriving at the Claypool Hotel two days ago. Almost every speaker at the convention referred to it in some manner, and contrary to expectations no heated opposition to the resolution developed. The applause that greeted the passage of the resolution was long and loud. Another resolution expressed the sense of the convention that women should serve on all boards of state institutions wherein women and children are detained, and it was resolved that women should be on school boards.
