INDIANAPOLIS — The annual YMCA Holiday Toy Drive and Project Reindeer will bring smiles to children and families throughout central Indiana next month. The 20th annual YMCA Holiday Toy Drive will provide two to three toys to more than 3,000 children from low-income families and area shelters this holiday season thanks to donations from the community.
Project Reindeer, also known as Breakfast with Santa, focuses on families experiencing homelessness, young mothers and individuals battling drug addiction. This event typically serves more than 480 individuals annually with breakfast, books and stocking stuffers via private donations and contributions through Amazon Wish List.
Out of abundance of caution related to Covid-19, this year the YMCA Holiday Toy Drive will be a drive-thru event ONLY, and Project Reindeer volunteers will hand-deliver gifts to pre-selected families rather than hosting an event.
Toy donations are accepted through Dec. 17 at all YMCA of Greater Indianapolis locations.
The 20th annual YMCA Holiday Toy Drive is presented by Tom Wood Automotive Group. The gift-giving program has brought joy and relief to over 40,000 children since it began in 2000.
Gifts for the Reindeer Project can be purchased directly from their Amazon Wish List through December 9, or donations can be made to our annual campaign at indymca.org/annual-campaign-support.
