From The Indianapolis News, Saturday, March 22, 1919: Letters from veterans organizations in Ft. Wayne and Anderson were read at the meeting of the World War Veterans of Marion County last night suggesting affiliation with Marion County veterans for the purpose of forming a state organization. A reorganization plan was adopted making the officers and members of the present body the central organization in the county and authorizing the chartering of any group of 100 or more men who wish to form a post. A resolution was approved supporting the Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce movement to have the “Home Again Flag,” designed by Philip Williams of Irvington, displayed in business windows. The flag shows the number of veterans who have been re-employed by the firm as well as the number of men who left the firm to enter the service.
