INDIANAPOLIS — On Sat., Oct. 27, Eskenazi Health Center Cottage Corner, the Indianapolis Fraternal Order of Police and additional community organizations are partnering to present the 23rd annual Eskenazi Health Center Cottage Corner Health Fair.
The Eskenazi Health Center Cottage Corner Health Fair will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 1434 Shelby St. in Indianapolis. No cost health screenings will include blood pressure and dental screenings, as well as a limited number of flu vaccines for those 9 years of age and older. Macha Eye Care will also provide free glaucoma eye screenings.
In addition, visitors to the health fair will have the opportunity to meet nurses who provide care at the health care sites and Eskenazi Health will have knowledgeable personnel on hand at information booths covering a wide variety of topics including but not limited to nutrition, teen care, family planning, dental care, insurance, senior care and much more.
As a special treat for all, healthy Halloween trick-or-treat snacks will be provided by Teamsters Local 135. Free parking and activities will also be available, compliments of the Indianapolis Fraternal Order of Police, located across the street from the health center. Youngsters may also look forward to exploring an Eskenazi Health security vehicle and an Indianapolis Fire Department fire truck.
Prairie Farms has donated 300 cartons of vanilla, chocolate and strawberry milk for the event and Eskenazi Health Pet Therapy will provide puppies for everyone to pet and hold.
