IRVINGTON — Hampton Designs Studio & Shop will celebrate its grand opening over three days: Thurs. Aug. 2 through Sat. Au. 4. Hampton Designs Studio & Shop has relocated to the ground floor of the Historic Irvington Masonic Lodge at 5515 E. Washington St. The grand opening will be at 4 p.m. on Thursday with a ribbon cutting, and drag performances begin at 4:30 p.m. and occur every half hour until 9 p.m. There will be a cash prize giveaway and complementary drinks and sweets.
The second event in the lineup begins at 4 p.m. on Friday as an Irvington First Friday gala, featuring the work of four local Irvington-area artists Roxy Cotton and Yasha Persson, plus jeweler Brittany Darr-Spencer, owner of The Local Radish, and Carrie Schmidt, owner of Renegade Henna, will be applying wearable henna art.
The third event, beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday includes classic complimentary brunch bites and a jazz band, Chase Blackburn Trio featuring Mark Ortwein. Hampton will offer free ten minute design consultations. Acro yoga and circus-inspired performances start at 4 p.m. and conclude at 9 p.m. The first 300 guests to the Studio will also receive a complimentary box of gourmet cookies.
Owner Adam Hampton has been part of the Irvington community for almost a decade, and has transformed the 2,000 square foot space into a 1920’s hotel lobby. The Studio will offer unique, bold, and funky home décor, furniture, lighting, art, antiques, gems, geodes, gourmet treats, and gift items in addition to featuring an in-house henna artist. The Studio will also serve as a base for Hampton’s interior design firm where he offers interior redesign, home staging, and event design services.
