INDIANAPOLIS — In partnership with the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) and the Indianapolis Parks Foundation, Indy Parks announced plans to temporarily close Sandorf Park, 2020 Dawson St., a 6.5-acre play space located on the city’s southside. The park closed April 9.
Sandorf Park, which was recently selected as NRPA’s 2018 Parks Build Community project, will undergo an makeover leading up to the NRPA Annual Conference in Indianapolis Sept. 23. The park’s transformation will be unveiled during the conference.
The park will feature a progressive bike ramp/pump track, state-of-the-art play structures, outdoor exercise equipment, a zipline, portable movie screen, water fountains, a multi-purpose court for futsal and soccer, and a revamped basketball court.
