From The Indianapolis News, Wednesday, September 26: In response to an appeal by The Rt. Rev. Joseph Chartrand, coadjutor bishop of Indianapolis, the parishioners of SS. Peter & Paul Cathedral have raised $50,000 (2016: $952,990) for the purchase of property for a new Catholic high school for boys to be known as Cathedral High School. Although the monies raised are not enough to carry through, it gives assurance that the high school will be established. Bishop Chartrand has a deep interest in young people of the parish, and it has been his dream to establish a high school for Catholic boys to round out the educational facilities of the parish which already has a grade school and St. Agnes Academy for girls. Cathedral High School will be a complete institution in every way, and it will prepare boys for college.
