INDIANAPOLIS — With over 74 acts and 400 shows, buskers on the streets and music in the air, IndyFringe17 will once again bring live theatre to Mass Ave from August 17-27. See a complete schedule of special events and shows at IndyFringe.org. On July 24 until the beginning of the festival, IndyFringe will offer early-bird tickets to the general public. Visit the Web site for links to online ticket sales. Please note that some performances will be in high demand, and tickets are likely to sell out very early.
New this year will feature new events, including a free street party Aug. 18 from 8 p.m.-11 p.m. on the 300 block of Mass Ave. The block will be closed to traffic for the party. On Aug. 23 at 10:30 p.m., there will be a Miss IndyFringe Pageant, where drag queens will compete for the title in front of celebrity guest judges in a variety of categories (tickets $15) at the IndyFringe Basile Theatre. There will be a Late Night Cabaret featuring 2017 IndyFringe artists on Aug. 25 at 11:59 p.m. at the IndyFringe Basile Theatre (tickets $15).
Free Parking will be available at the Coca-Cola plant from 5 p.m. weekdays and noon on weekends throught the festival. Enter off College Avenue.
In addition, ticket fees are down from $3 to $1; online, by credit card or in cash per ticket transaction. Ticket prices are $15 Adult; $12 Senior/Student; $10 under 12 years of age.
The new festival hub is located at Firefighters Union Hall, 748 Mass Ave. and will provide a one stop air-conditioned space including:
• Central Box Office — selling tickets to all shows in all theatres up to 30 minutes in advance
• Information Booth — check ticket availability, grab a program, get directions etc.
• Beer Hall serving beer, wine, champagne and snacks
• 84 seat black box theatre sponsored by Gershman Partners
• VisualFringe Gallery showcasing the work of local area visual artists.
