INDIANAPOLIS — The City’s Department of Public Works (DPW) recently announced that the City is investing an estimated $102 million in infrastructure improvements, including transportation, stormwater and Indy Parks enhancements.
City leaders kicked off the 2017 construction season by highlighting its resurfacing program which targets nearly 70 lane miles of deteriorating roadways. DPW is beginning work to resurface 71st Street on the northeast side of the City.
This year’s construction season includes $50 million in transportation improvements, $43 million in stormwater improvements and $9 million in Indy Parks improvements.
Highlights of this year’s construction season include the following:
• 35,000 feet of repairs and new installations to sidewalks
• 300 ADA-accessible ramps
• 19,000 feet of new trails
• 23 signalized intersections improvements
• 43,000 feet of curbs
• Bridge replacement at Central Avenue over Fall Creek
• Bridge rehabilitation of Grandview Drive over Crooked Creek
• Gateway South Neighborhood Drainage Improvements at Madison Avenue and East Street
