IRVINGTON — The annual Irvington Historical Society’s Ice Cream Social drew a big crowd Aug. 7. Thanks to the IHS volunteers, donated auction items, and vendors, the social raised funds to help sustain the Bona Thompson Memorial Center and IHS programs.
The live auction drew lively bidding, and raised $1,400 for the IHS. Gift baskets, quilts, original artwork, antique furniture, and much more was auctioned off by Mike Heimel of Heimel Auctions. Rock-Ola Cafe was on hand to sell Choc-Ola and other savory treats, and the Simply Divine cupcakes and Wyliepalooza ice cream were sold out by the end of the day. The Indianapolis Jazz Band delighted the crowd with old-time favorites.
