From The Indianapolis News, Friday, February 18: Campaign advertising in motion picture theaters is having its first real try-out in Indianapolis and in other Indiana cities. Warren T. McCray, one of the candidates for the Republican nomination for governor, is having his advertisement displayed on the screens in more than thirty motion picture theaters in this city. James P. Goodrich, another Republican gubernatorial candidate, also has advertising displayed on the screen in many of the local picture shows. The effect of the advertising on the audiences varies; sometimes the audience applauds and yells when the advertising is displayed, and at other times the same candidate’s advertising calls forth not the slightest bit of noise. Advertising for a number of candidates seeking the nomination to other offices are being displayed in the picture houses here and elsewhere in Indiana.
