From The Indianapolis Star, Monday, September 7, 1925: The Butler Collegian will begin publishing daily on September 15 for the first time in the school’s history. Published under the direction of the journalism department, headed by Prof. Henry Birdsong, the Collegian gives journalism students practical experience as editorial staff, reporters, or copy desk workers. Junior Eugene Clifford of Anderson has been named the paper’s editor. Up to now, the Butler College newspaper has been published weekly or bi-weekly and the first issue of the daily Collegian will mark the paper’s fortieth anniversary. Butler president Dr. Judson Aley approved the daily publication of the Collegian and along with Prof. Birdsong will serve on the paper’s board of control. Indianapolis business firms have committed to providing sufficient advertising to assure the Collegian’s financial success. Printing arrangements have been made with Mail Press.
