From The Indianapolis Star, Tuesday, July 7, 1925: D. C. Stephenson, Earl Gentry, and Earl Klinck will continue to be held without bail in the Noblesville jail until the October term of the Hamilton County circuit court when they will face trial for the murder of Madge Oberholtzer. Judge Fred Hines set the case for trial after yesterday’s proceedings were spent on legal maneuvering with the prosecution wanting to force a trial of Stephenson prior to a trial of Gentry and Klinck while the defense contended it was prepared for the trial of Gentry which had been scheduled to begin today. Judge Hines dismissed the 100 prospective jurors and then immediately adjourned the court for the summer seconds before Eph Inman, chief defense counsel, was prepared to file a motion on behalf of Stephenson asking for a change of judge.
