Kountry Kitchen Soul Food Suffers Heavy Fire Damage

INDIANAPOLIS — Kountry Kitchen Soul Food, a long-standing restaurant favored by celebrities and locals alike, suffered heavy damage in an early morning fire on Saturday, Jan. 11. The restaurant at 18th and College.
Owners Isaac and Cynthia Wilson have been dishing up traditional soul food at the restaurant for many years. Ms. Jessie started the business, and then Nell carried the tradition forward, and now the Wilsons have kept it in the family. It started as a small diner in 1988 and then expanded into a nationally-known spot where many locals and politicians visit (including then-Senator Barack Obama).
