City Receives Fed Money to Widen Emerson Ave.

INDIANAPOLIS — On July 20, Mayor Joe Hogsett joined Metropolitan Planning Organization Executive Director Anna Gremling to celebrate the appropriation of over $10 million in federal transportation dollars to help fund the widening of Emerson Ave. from County Line to Stop 11 roads. The future project will improve traffic flow on the south side of Indianapolis.
According to the application, the widening of Emerson Ave. will address significant traffic bottlenecks north of the Indianapolis-Greenwood border. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2023.
