CUMBERLAND — Cumberland Arts Goes to Market’s theme this year is “A Celebration of Art and Community.” The event will be held Sat., Aug. 19, from 9 – 4 at the Cumberland Town Hall, 11501 E. Washington St.
This is their 9th annual arts and crafts festival, which is held in conjunction with with the Cumberland Farmers Market. The market offers unique art and craft items, fresh produce, silent auction, great entertainment including The Irish Airs and Silly Safaris, and a variety of food choices. Local singers will have an opportunity to show off their talents at Karaoke, 3 p.m., in the Shirley Brothers Entertainment Pavilion. Hearts Ablaze Cloggers will be in the Cloggers Pavilion (Saturn Street across from Honors Park) on festival day and will give performances at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., and noon. They have been a long-time participant in Cumberland Arts. The men from the Indianapolis Men’s Chorus will perform beginning at 1 p.m. in the Shirley Brothers Mortuaries & Crematory pavilion.
Cumberland Arts Goes to Market is a family friendly event with free admission, free parking and handicapped accessible. The festival is located on Saturn Street, a side street next to Cumberland Town Hall.
