Footlite Presents Spamalot

INDIANAPOLIS — Come laugh a lot at Footlite Musicals’ next production Monty Python’s Spamalot Nov. 25, 26, 27, and Dec. 1, 2, 3, 4, 8, 9, 10 and 11.
Indianapolis’ oldest continuing community theatre presents its productions at its home theater, the Hedback Community Theater, 1847 N. Alabama St. Curtain time for its Thursday, Friday and Saturday performances is 7:30 p.m. Sunday matinees have a 2:30 p.m. curtain.
With a book and lyrics by Eric Idle and music by Idle and John DuPrez, Spamalot is a singing and dancing extravaganza that won three Tony Awards, including Best Musical, when it premiered on Broadway over 10 years ago.
Spamalot is not your average story of King Arthur and the Holy Grail. The musical offers a cast of broadly goofy characters, including flatulent Frenchmen, killer rabbits, self-harming monks, catapulting cows, the Lady of the Lake and her Laker Girls, plus knights around a “very, very round table.“ Audiences should expect some bawdy British humor, such as the obligatory girl in her underwear being chased by an older man, so it is suggested for mature audiences.
Portraying King Arthur in this highly irreverent parody is Drew Duvall, with Vince Accetturo as his trusty servant, Patsy. Rebecca McConnell also stars as the Lady of the Lake. Playing Arthur’s knights and a broad assortment of other characters are Jerry Beasley, Clint Buechler, Mark Cashwell, Christian Condra, Conrad Cotterman, Jerry Davis, Chad Jones, Christopher Jones, Curtis Peters, Sam Surette, Cody Wence and Jonathan Young. The lovely showgirls are Amy Baumann, Ashley Bennett, Madeline Hittel, Carolyn Lynch, Abby Okerson and Ilissa Rassner.
Directed by Rich Baker, the musical is produced for Footlite by Elizabeth Ruddell.
Admission for the Friday, Saturday and Sunday performances are $23 for adults and $15 for youth 17 and younger. The Thursday and first Sunday performances are $10 for all seats.  Become a Footlite member to save every time you see a show. Members pay $15 at regular performances and $5 at bargain performances.
