INDIANAPOLIS — Property owners along State Road 37, from Martinsville to Indianapolis, are invited to learn about the state’s land purchasing and relocation process at two I-69 open houses. The open houses are being held in response to public interest in information before project impacts to specific properties are known.
The first meeting will take place on Mon., Aug. 15 at Perry Meridian High School, 401 W Meridian School Rd. in Indianapolis. The second meeting will occur on Tuesday, Aug. 16 at Martinsville High School, 1360 E. Gray St. in Martinsville. Property owners are invited to attend either meeting as they are able between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. as there is no formal presentation.
Indiana Department of Transportation real-estate and I-69 Section 6 project staff will be available on-site to talk with property owners one-on-one and in small groups, to explain displays, and to provide take-home materials.
INDOT will not be purchasing land as part of these meetings. While the I-69 Section 6 impact review is still ongoing, INDOT and project staff will not know the exact amount of land needed or be able to provide information about effects to specific properties.
