Efficiency Teams Will Include Community

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Department of Public Safety (DPS) recently announced the creation of efficiency teams designed to make the operation of DPS and its divisions more effective, more efficient, and more transparent to the public. The teams will analyze budgets, daily operations, administrative processes, staffing and resource allocation, and may include representative from the community as well as public and city officials. The first four Efficiency Teams – the DPS Business Plans Team, the Police Morale Team, the DPS Vehicles Team and the Police Personnel Allocations Team were announced.
The public is encouraged to use the newly created e-mail address dps@indy.gov to submit thoughts, concerns or questions with regard to the efficiency teams. Information pertaining to the teams’ work, recommendations and implementation of results will be available via the Department of Public Safety’s website at www.indy.gov/eGov/City/dps/Pages/home.aspx.


Community Health Collaborates with Lutheran Child & Family Services

INDIANAPOLIS — Community Health Network and Lutheran Child and Family Services (LCFS) are announcing a collaboration that will enhance and expand the treatment for children who have experienced trauma and are dealing with behavioral challenges. Community Health Network will manage, in collaboration with LCFS, the behavioral health services for children and adolescents at Lutherwood, a private and secure youth residential facility, and Trinity House, a transitional group home for young men. The collaboration will also include blended community-based programs previously managed separately under Gallahue Community Mental Health Center and LCFS.
In addition, LCFS and Community Health Network are announcing that George Hurd has returned to LCFS to serve as chief operating officer of the collaboration effort. Hurd served as director of business development, controller, director of administrative services and as senior director of finance at LCFS from 2002 to 2007.


IndyGo Changes to Service

INDIANAPOLIS — The first phase of enhanced IndyGo service will launch Feb. 10, with further improvements rolling out on June 9. Highlights include:
• On Feb. 11 IndyGo will introduce Frequent Service on three routes, Monday through Friday, early morning through early evening. Route 39 – East 38th Street and portions of Route 8 – Washington and Route 10 – 10th Street will depart every 20 minutes or better.
Route 8 serves Washington Street including Indianapolis Airport; Monday through Friday, Route 8 will run every 15 minutes between the Indianapolis Zoo and Meijer on East Washington Street from 6:30 a.m. to 6:40 p.m.
Route 10 – 10th Street will run on 20 minute frequency between Tibbs Avenue and Washington Street at German Church Road, Monday through Friday, 5:15 a.m. to 5:50 p.m.
Route 39 – East 38th Street will operate on 15 minute frequency Monday through Friday, 4:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Service frequency on 38th Street and 42nd Street between Franklin Road and Mitthoefer Road will be improved to every 30 minutes.
