From The Indianapolis News, Wednesday, November 10, 1915: A real tea room, such as are found in large Eastern cities, will open next week as an experiment by the Public Health Nursing Association. The room at 22 E. Washington St. will be one of the coziest little tea rooms imaginable, where dainty sandwiches, tea, and salad will be served by members of the Association and the Woman’s Department Club. The tea room will be operated for one week with the hope of materially increasing the funds of the Association. Since its incorporation nearly three years ago, the Indianapolis Public Health Nursing Association has been doing great work in giving the poor and those of small means the best home nursing that existing conditions will permit and to instruct household members in the fundamental rules of hygiene.
