INDIANAPOLIS — One hundred volunteers are still needed to help Indianapolis Public Schools students reach their full reading potential. With just one hour a week, volunteers can make a huge impact in the lives of students. Now is the time to join the hundreds of volunteers already participating in ReadUP, a partnership between United Way of Central Indiana (UWCI) and IPS.
All it takes to become a ReadUP volunteer is to attend a one-time, 90-minute training session and commit to weekly visits to an IPS school. Volunteers can also share the weekly session commitment with coworkers or friends. UWCI provides free training sessions to ensure each ReadUP volunteer is fully prepared to have the greatest impact on young readers by using consistent instructional support.
