From The Indianapolis Star, Saturday, August 14, 1915: The fifty-five children, formerly housed in the Board of Children’s Guardians Home, 5751 University Av, which was destroyed in a blaze last week, were taken to Marion yesterday afternoon by a special rail car, where they will be placed in the orphan’s home. They will remain in the Marion home until a new building has been erected in Indianapolis or until the old building in Irvington is repaired. The same attendants in charge of the children here accompanied them to Marion and will look after them. The youngsters will have the best of quarters in Marion as the home is able to accommodate 100 children and has had so far only about thirty inmates.
