Near Eastside Soccer Alliance Kicks Off Third Season

INDIANAPOLIS — The Near Eastside neighborhoods have come together to create a grass-roots soccer league for the children of the near east side. This spring, the Near East Soccer Alliance (NESA) will kick off the third season of soccer practice and games at the Frank and Judy O’Bannon Soccer Park near 16th Street and College Avenue.
NESA is comprised of neighborhood partners from the John H Boner Community Center, Paramount School of Excellence, Englewood Recreation, the Lilly Boys and Girls Club, and volunteers from the Near Eastside neighborhood of Indianapolis.
Supported by volunteers, NESA partnered with TAB Recreation and the Oaks Academy to serve 213 youths, ages 4 to 12, in 2014. In 2015, they began an exciting new partnership with Soccer Community Organization for Recreation and Education (SCORE) and Indiana Soccer. SCORE will be providing player and field equipment, training for coaches, training for referees, insurance for players (limited — if needed) and many other things.
The Registration Fee for the Spring 2015 season is $30 per player; with a reduced fee of $20 for each additional sibling in the same household. Teams will be divided according to age and aligned with traditional soccer age groups. These will be U12 (ages 11 – 12), U10 (ages 9 – 10), U8 (ages 7 – 8), and U6 (6 years and under). There is an additional Uniform Fee of $20 for this season. The uniform is a reversible jersey that players will be able to use from season to season. There will be one uniform for all players.
Registration for the Spring season is now open. Registration ends April 1st at 11:45 p.m. The first practice will be April 8th at 6:15 p.m. and be an organization/practice day. The second practice will be on April 11th at 9 a.m. To register, visit http://neareastsoccer.com
