INDIANAPOLIS — The Near East Side Community Organization (NESCO) will hold their annual public meeting and planning meeting Feb. 21 from 8 a.m.-noon at Englewood Church (57 N. Rural). There will be a neighborhood pitch-in breakfast.
All Near East Side home owners, renters, neighbors, business members, or community leaders are invited to attend the meeting. It will be an opportunity to meet with civic leaders, learn about new developments in the community, and exchange ideas. With the theme of “Bring on The Biz,” the day’s focus will be Economic and Business Development and will include two panel discussions: a business development strategy panel and a local business panel. Attendees will hear first hand from people who chose to open a business on the Near East Side.
This year NESCO is bringing back the Silent Auction. In keeping with the theme for this year, the auction will feature items from our very own Near East Side businesses. Attendees will be able to shop throughout the event. NESCO will also be beginning a new tradition of honoring NESCO legends. The day will include opportunities to get to know Near East Side businesses and organizations at informational booths. There will also be a presentation on redistricting and what re-districting means to NESCO voters by The League of Women Voters.
